While in Los Angeles California you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a celebrity but you must be looking for them. You may see a movie star, an athlete, or even a famous musician. There are many steps to take if going celebrity spotting.
First of all, a fun place to enjoy some entertainment and see a Hollywood star at the same time is to attend a Lakers basketball game. Many well known stars are regular attendees of Lakers games. Some of the stars include Jack Nicholson, Denzel Washington, and Leonardo Dicaprio among others. Although the seats where they sit usually cost around 2,000 dollars each you still may be able to see them.
Second, a lot of television and movie recording studios are in Los Angeles and celebrities get hungry after a long day of acting, so why not do some celebrity spotting at a restaurant near a studio and keep your eyes peeled for a celebrity to come in for a lunch break or dinner.
Third, a sure thing to do for celebrity spotting is to get a part in a movie as an extra. You can check craigslist and local newspapers for agencies that are hiring. The good thing about being an extra is that almost anyone can do it. Sometimes people can even sit in the audience to view the show as it is being filmed.
Next, have some fun and be entertained by a celebrity such as Dave Chappelle, Dane Cook, or Carlos Mencia at the Laugh Factory Comedy Club. There are also many other fun places to spot a celebrity such as Sunset Strip Tattoo if you like ink. The Viper Room is a great place to catch a star out having fun many have been spotted here over the years. Another place to visit on Sunday mornings is church. Many celebrities are religious and attend churches such as Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral which is located in Los Angeles. Another church where stars are known to attend is Wilshire United Methodist church. However, this is a place of worship and it would be terribly rude to approach them while attending service with their families.
Finally, if you are visiting Los Angeles you will need a place to sleep and if you are trying to do celebrity spotting while here why not book your stay in a hotel where many stars are known to frequent themselves. Also known as the western Whitehouse the Century plaza Hotel has seen its fair share of famous people. Presidents such as Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and even George Bush have all spent the night in this hotel. Famous singers from Sir Elton John to Rod Stewart have performed live on stage here at the hotel. The hotel banquet center hosts many award dinners and throughout the past has seen many famous celebrities such as Sharon Stone, Burt Reynolds, Magic Johnson, and Bob Hope as well as many others.
In conclusion, while in Las Angeles one may have many opportunities to catch a glimpse of a celebrity as long as you know where to look.
